teaching philosophy:
“I work on many different aspects of music and the guitar with my students. For beginners, I teach them how to read music on the guitar, some basic music theory, chords and some fundamental guitar technique. As I’m teaching them these things, I have them start to play some music, even if it’s just simple little tunes, almost immediately. I mold my teaching to each student’s individual needs, skill level, age, and areas of interest. For students who have been playing guitar for a while, I work with them on refining their playing and developing effective practice habits. Most importantly, I want my all students to be working to improve a little bit each week, and above all to find joy in playing music on the guitar.”
